Last week I headed down to House of Fraser for a long overdue meet up with all of the #BlogClub ladies and a floral headpiece making sesh with the wonderful Crown and Glory.
I did this when they were at House of Fraser last year and was beyond buzzed to get a spot on it again! It was a great opportunity to catch up with a few of Bristol’s finest blogging babes and get started on this summer’s festival wardrobe.
For one weekend a year they have their twee as twee can be little lilac sweet cart serving up floral goodness from jars –
Last year’s head garden…
Last year I went for berry colours with a pop of neon green on a wrap around headpiece.
The first step was to choose which headband, this year there was a choice of a simple Alice band or a fascinator. Then it was time to do a bit of gardening and choose from the amazing array of pretty flowers available! This time round I chose a band and went for a tropical vibe with bright pinks and oranges and even picked up a little bird and a butterfly because, in Crown & Glory’s own words…
“Subtle accessories are a waste of everyone’s time!”
Let’s get making!
Once I had made my selections the lovely Sophie and Gareth took over. They are the best at giving tips and tricks on what might work best in terms of layout and colour combos whilst leaving creative control firmly in your hands!
The finished crown!
I was super chuffed with my finished headband – it was even reversible with the bird showing at the front and the butterfly at the back (cute!). They had a really big array of different flowers and foliage so there was lots to choose from meaning you could come out with something really original at the end – check out all the different outcomes the girls had!
They’re such lovely pieces, suitable for festivals and weddings alike… and I don’t know where you could pick up a fully customised headpiece for only £20!! The pop-up ran at House of Fraser in Bristol’s Cabot Circus last weekend, but don’t worry if you missed it as it’s back again in London from 26th -29th May.
