Next weekend is the official start to my summer festival season (!!) This year I’m swapping out my usual trusty summer opener, Love Saves the Day, with my first ever Shindig Festival… which is handily still only an hour down the road from me in Bristol!
Of course I love a bit of dress up and I especially love a good theme (organised fun is the best kind of fun ofc) so one of the things I’m most excited for at Shindig is their 2019 fancy dress theme… ‘Get Fruity!!’

Great suggestions! I’ve been trying to figure out what to wear to Shindig this year, and I love the idea of a lemon costume—it’s fun but still easy to move around in. Do you think a full fruit suit would be too warm for the daytime sets, or is it manageable?
The group ideas are the most fun part here: one balloon-covered grape beside bananas, pineapples, and a whole fruit salad would read instantly across a crowd. A full banana suit might be warm for daytime dancing, but a sculptural fruit headpiece with a breathable outfit underneath seems like a great compromise. I also like that many of these pieces could be rearranged for a different theme later.
